Elizabeth Yeampierre is a visionary leader of the climate justice movement. As Executive Director of UPROSE in Brooklyn, she is an internationally recognized Puerto Rican environmental and climate justice champion of African and indigenous ancestry, born and raised in New York City. She's uniquely positioned to discuss the intersection of environmental justice, COVID-19, and the uprising. In 2010, Elizabeth was the opening speaker at the Obama Administration’s first White House Forum on Environmental Justice, and in 2015, she spoke at Pope Francis’s Climate Change Rally at the National Mall in Washington DC.
