Current Openings: 

Human Resources and Administration Manager

EHC is seeking a skilled and dedicated administrative and human resources professional to join our team. The Human Resources & Administration Manager (HR/Admin) must share a commitment to environmental, racial and social justice. The HR/Admin is responsible for all areas of Human Resources, including administration, DEI, succession planning, recruitment, performance evaluations, professional development, and compensation.

 

Finance Manager

The FINANCE MANAGER (FM) will play a significant role in managing the organization’s financial and administrative functions, and in supporting those areas that intersect with human resources programs necessary to EHC’s current and future functioning. The following describes the responsibilities and projection of the phased evolution of the position.

 

Policy Advocate

The Policy Advocate is a position for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment working with community organizers, policy advocates, and allied organizations to influence local, regional, and state government policies to achieve environmental justice. The Policy Advocate works to advance policies and projects that reduce air and climate pollution, advance land-use reforms and equitable development, and advances transportation justice. The Policy Advocate focuses on low-income communities of color, where these impacts are greatest, and works with community leaders to identify key issues and community-driven solutions.

 

 

United to Vote Canvasser

As a part-time canvasser at EHC, the majority of your job will be contacting people to inform them about issues that affect their community such as how/where to vote, and how to support local government policies to improve air quality, public transportation, and green spaces.

 

Air Quality Policy Advocate

The Air Quality Advocate (AQA) is a position for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment working with community organizers, neighborhood residents and allied organizations to influence government policies to achieve environmental justice through air quality improvement. The AQA works to advance policies and projects that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and stationary sources, focusing on heavy-duty freight and industrial sources. The AQA focuses on low-income communities of color where these sources are disproportionately located and works with community leaders to identify key issues and community-driven solutions.The AQA conducts policy advocacy to influence local governments and state regulatory and legislative bodies to reduce impacts in low-income communities of color in the San Diego/Tijuana region.

 

COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE (P/T)

EHC is seeking a creative, social media savvy, and collaborative part-time communications associate dedicated to social, racial, and environmental justice. Reporting directly to the Communications Director, the Communications Associate will be key to expanding EHC’s social media presence and influence. They will be an outside-of-the-box thinker with an eye for visual design and a knack for explaining complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms. This individual will be attuned to social media and other digital platforms and have the capacity to leverage them to further environmental justice and empower our communities.

 

Community Organizer-BL (Part-Time)

The Logan Community Organizer must share a commitment to environmental, social and racial justice. This is a part-time non-exempt position with an expected weekly schedule of 20 hours minimum. This schedule may periodically be increased dependent on campaign needs. This position requires coordinating organizing efforts in Barrio Logan and Logan Heights and supporting Barrio Logan Promotoras and other EHC staff.

 

Transportation Justice Organizer

The Transportation Justice Organizer (TJO) is committed to working with San Diego region residents focusing on EHC’s Core Communities (particularly City Heights) to increase community engagement in transportation planning by developing supporters, members and Community Action Team. The TJO conducts regional outreach efforts outside EHC’s core communities, including students and youth, to participate in EHC’s Transportation Justice Campaign. The TJO will engage Transportation Justice CAT members and supporters in leadership development and facilitate community participation in decision-making. The TJO will supervise Community and Transportation Justice Promotores engaged in the core community and maintain an organizing network. This position will also support other organizing efforts such as voter engagement and EHC-coordinated regional efforts to achieve environmental justice.
